Craig
This is a timely message. Eight years ago almost to the day I was celebrating a birthday at your house. You took the time out to encourage me and criticise me when I needed it. I look back and see how lucky and blessed I was during that period. I was listening to a sermon online and heard of a young pastor who has been involved in a devestating accident. I don't know why God has protected me when I was stupid and allowed other people to get hurt when they are hundred times more like Christ than I am. I am finally beginning to be aware of how fragile I am and how strong God is. I hope the church is going well.

Most of us do not have the calling to be a doctor, like our dear friend Annie. But each of us hears more and more of God's call to serve him, I hope we all can respond. I know I struggle with this. But your post makes an excellent point about the REAL priorities. We are all called to be a part of God's army...to love each other, heal each other, pray, and proclaim the hope that comes from God. When we focus on that throughout our days, we become a part of the most important army on the planet! What a powerful thing! I'll be praying too for removal of all distractions and an "opening up" for all of us. Thank you, Craig, for this post.

And, God bless Dr. Annie as she minsters, both body and soul, to those she encounters!

Interesting how Charles had this palace commissioned and then after 47 years of construction never got to use it. There's a lesson to be learned in there too... 47 years was at that time pretty much a person's life time, king or no king.... I enjoyed reading your observation Craig. And yes, we can trust God for being here with us, knowing us, and caring about us.

Great insight, Craig. What a contrast between King Jesus and Charles IV.

As I think about it, not only did Jesus want to be with the people rather than escape them, he also didn't try to move out of harms way! The enemy of our souls attacked and the volcano of the judgment to come both came fully upon him, and he stood his ground; and all for the sake and benefit of "the crowds, poverty, and noise of the people" that he loved more than his own life.
